This is a great blog, don’t you think? The content varies widely, but it’s always uplifting and fun.

Motivating Giraffe

(Carrying on the Mental Health Week theme.)

It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to need help. It’s okay to reach out. It’s okay that you are tired and need a break and some time to recover and to breathe.

It’s not okay that in 2015 we are still afraid to ask for help because of the stigma that goes along with it. A lot more mental illness and suicide is coming our way until that changes. This is not okay.

Tell a doctor, tell a friend, tell your pastor, tell someone. Please. You are worth this, you are worth more than having no one in the world know that you are struggling. I know there is someone reading this that is so afraid to make that call, to take that leap. Take a breath, my beautiful friend. You deserve so much more.

  1. It’s not OK is something I often forget to allow my feel or admit. Yesterday I nearly lost my mind, so overwhelmed with every angle of denial. All I had to do was sit and say it’s ok to not be ok and chill and feel it. Thank you for the reminder! Love and Light Always

    1. OK is not as simple as it may seem. Acceptance allows one to see things as they are, no denial, no rationalization. But we need more than no bad: we need to move forward, address our issues and failings, not JUST accept them. That makes for progress. Standing still in a moving reality means volunteering to get left behind. Don’t do that!
