It’s been great to see all the nurse enthusiasm and creativity out there! Thanks, everybody, and please continue to show patience: I don’t want to overload people with too many songs all at once. All your contributions are comfortably waiting in the Green Room with lots of other great links.
That said, please allow me to present today’s five:
- Kathy Walton offers Shake it off by Taylor Swift. Nurse take so much crap: it pays to grow your skin good and thick.
2. Helen Borel,PhD
@Borelmedwriter on Twiiter offered “My ‘RN Themesong’ for testing diabetics’ urines: SUGAR IN THE MORNING, SUGAR IN THE EVENING, SUGAR AT SUPPERTIME” by The McGuire Sisters in 1958:
3. Helen also reports that “My song is Don’t Stop Believing…by Journey… enjoy!” I certainly will:
4. Beth Boynton on Next Wave Connect offers: Shakira – Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) (The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Song):
5. Rajendra Chhetri offers us a double – an excuse to squeeze in six songs today! – “We had a sing along in the Alzheimer’s Cafe on 3rd Monday . It was our Social after 11 months of talks on issues caused by Dementia and its challenges to care/s/next of kins. In late Autumn and Winter sessions of Alzheimer Cafe in Camberley I double up as a Lollipup Man in the Car Pakr of St Mary’s Church. We hold our Cafe in the Churchhall. In July we had lovely Barbacue and Singalong. I talked about a pianist who memory lasts 5 minutes but she played Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven so easily, totally immersed in that Pleasure given by the Music. The title of July session was pleasure. As one knows we human have pleasure centres in the brain. I could sense endorphins oozing out. In the Day Hospital when I did exercises session we played the song: “Hanging washing in the Sigfreid Line along with action. Physiotherapy Dept.’s technician had made a tape of old songs. Bless her. I can’t remember her name but can see her face. OOH dear !!??”
Sorry, no more today! Soon, I promise. Do YOU have a theme song? I badly want to hear it and share it…
Keep on Playing!
