When the media sells fear and we buy it, we do ouselves a deep disservice: make ourselves miserable and lead ourselves to dumb decisions and regrets. We also encourage the media to offer more fear: they offer what sells, of course.
If we don’t reward a topic, it disappears quickly. In the end, we own much of the repsonsibility for media decisions we so often like to bash as if the audience is a passive victim. If adults watch crap in large numbers, whose fault is it, really, that the media offers more of what we the people demand?
